School Collaborations

As part of the Public, Education, and Government access offerings at PANDA 23 TV, we are developing a rich menu of opportunities for the education community to reach students, parents of students, teachers, and school administrators. Currently, we are working on a series of concepts that will bring schools and community together through public access.

Current project School Collaborations with PANDA under development:

* Shows designed and taught by teachers: to assist parents in understanding their child’s lessons. Our first in a series will be, "Everyday Math Lessons" by Joan Berland
* Workshops: with Industry professionals from tv/film
* Fieldtrips: to NYC broadcast tv/film studios
* Community Calender: pages built and managed by students
* Equipment Share Program: shared with Schools/PANDA/Municipalities

An integral part of PANDA TV 23’s initiative is to encourage and assist in developing original programming produced by students for public access. PANDA TV 23 offers free basic airtime for school related programming for coverage of sports events, board of education meetings, and special events that take place at the schools.

PANDA TV 23 is creating an education program that can provide:

* Technical television training and program development experiences to local area public/private/home school high school students
* Outreach to area elementary and high schools for Audio/Visual departments to collaborate with PANDA
* An opportunity to create an equipment share program with schools

PANDA TV 23 is currently developing Independent Study Courses for original programming with our local schools. Some formats being considered for possible programs include:

* "Week In Review" - clips from around campus
* Unique programs developed by school departments/clubs/activities
* "Student Government Report"
* "Arts & Culture Presentations" from classroom work
